Speech Sound and Motor Speech

We evaluate and treat articulation, phonological and motor speech disorders wherein individuals with these disorders struggle to pronounce sounds and words clearly, making their speech hard to understand. We treat:

  • Apraxia: A motor speech disorder where the brain cannot process the movements necessary for speech.
  • Dysarthria: A disorder where the muscles in the face or respiratory system responsible for speech are weakened. This leads to slurred, unclear speech.

These disorders can be the result of stroke or brain damage.
